Dr. Carolina Carvalho Soares Valentim

Dr. Carolina Valentim is an ophthalmology resident at the University of Louisville Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. She earned her medical degree from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. She also conducted research and lived in California and Ohio before moving to Louisville. She chose the University of Louisville residency program for its diversity of cases at the general and subspecialty clinics, as well as the friendliness of the program.

As a resident, she provides care to patients with a wide range of eye conditions at these clinics, gaining valuable experience in both medical and surgical ophthalmology. Dr. Valentim is originally from Rio de Janeiro. She enjoys the natural beauty of Louisville and the local food scene. In her personal time, she likes spending time with her husband, daughter, and dog at the park.
