About Me
Dr. Carl Danzig is a board-certified ophthalmologist and retina specialist with over 14 years of experience, having started practice in September 2011. He provides expert care for a range of potentially blinding retina conditions, with a strong focus on diabetes-related eye issues and macular degeneration. Dr. Danzig is at the forefront of retinal research, having served as a principal investigator for nearly 60 clinical trials and being the first physician to perform a subretinal gene therapy surgery in South Florida.
Dr. Danzig completed his residency in ophthalmology at SUNY-Downstate Medical Center and pursued fellowship training in vitreoretinal surgery at the University of Texas-Southwestern Medical Center. He is an active member of several professional societies, including the Retina Society, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the American Society of Retina Specialists. His clinical expertise and research contributions have made him a sought-after speaker at national and international meetings.
