Dr. Brittany Simmons

Dr. Shravani Mikkilineni is a fellowship-trained oculoplastic surgeon specializing in reconstructive, functional, and cosmetic surgery of the eyelids, orbit, and periocular region. She treats droopy eyelids, eyelid malpositions, thyroid eye disease, tear-duct problems, orbital tumors and trauma, and offers a full spectrum of cosmetic eyelid and facial rejuvenation procedures. Her goal is to deliver natural-looking results and restore comfort, function, and confidence with meticulous technique and clear communication. A Michigan native, Dr. Mikkilineni earned her undergraduate degree from Harvard University and completed medical school at the University of Michigan, where she also received an MBA. She completed an internship and ophthalmology residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, followed by a two-year American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) fellowship at the Casey Eye Institute, Oregon Health & Science University. She enjoys teaching and mentoring trainees and is active across multiple hospital and surgical centers in Southeast Michigan.

Dr. Elaine Downie is a clinical assistant professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Michigan Health's W.K. Kellogg Eye Center. She specializes in oculoplastic surgery, caring for conditions that affect the eyelids, tear ducts, orbit (eye socket), and surrounding structures. Patients see her for problems such as drooping eyelids, blocked tear ducts, orbital tumors, thyroid eye disease, and trauma-related injuries. She provides both surgical and non-surgical treatments with a focus on protecting vision, restoring function, and improving comfort. Dr. Downie sees patients at the Oculoplastic Surgery Clinic in Ann Arbor and at the Brighton Center for Specialty Care. She earned her medical degree from the University of Minnesota in 2017, completed an ophthalmology residency at the University of Wisconsin in 2021, and pursued fellowship training in Oculofacial Plastic Surgery at the University of Wisconsin, finishing in 2023. Dr. Downie is board-certified in Ophthalmology. Her practice includes collaboration across subspecialties to address complex concerns such as thyroid eye disease and peri-orbital tumors, and she is committed to clear communication and patient-centered care throughout evaluation, treatment, and follow-up.
