Meet Dr. Brian Nichols
About Me
Dr. Brian Nichols is a board-certified ophthalmologist who has been practicing with Boulder Eye Surgeons since 2000. He earned both his M.D. and a Ph.D. in genetics from the University of Iowa, completing his formal training with an internal medicine internship, an ophthalmology residency, and a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology.
Dr. Nichols specializes in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus, and also performs cataract surgery. His clinical practice focuses on comprehensive eye care for children and adults, with particular expertise in managing complex eye conditions. He has conducted extensive research on the genetics of eye diseases and holds a patent for a laboratory device.
He is an active member of several professional societies, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus. His work has been widely published in peer-reviewed journals, contributing to the understanding of genetic factors in various ocular conditions.
