About Me
Dr. Brett Gudgel is a fellowship-trained cornea specialist with EyeHealth Northwest. He cares for patients seeking routine and complex cataract surgery, refractive procedures such as LASIK and PRK, and advanced treatment for corneal disease, including corneal transplantation. Dr. Gudgel believes improving and preserving vision is a profound responsibility, and he aims to make every visit clear, comfortable, and collaborative. He was raised in Tulsa and studied biochemistry at the University of Oklahoma before earning his medical degree at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. He completed ophthalmology residency at the Dean McGee Eye Institute, where he served as chief resident, and pursued fellowship training in Cornea, External Disease, and Refractive Surgery at the Moran Eye Center at the University of Utah. Board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, he has been recognized for clinical excellence and medical education and was named among Portland’s Top Doctors in 2023. Outside clinic, he enjoys time outdoors with his family.
