Dr. Natalia Morales is an ophthalmology fellow who combines meticulous surgical training with a warm, reassuring bedside manner. She is committed to making each visit comfortable and empowering, taking time to explain findings and tailor care plans to every patient. Her interests span cataract and refractive surgery, corneal disease, and glaucoma care, and she contributes to ongoing clinical research that brings the latest advances to the exam room. Dr. Morales earned her undergraduate degree at Yale University and her medical degree at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. She completed internship and ophthalmology residency at Barnes-Jewish Hospital/Washington University, where she received recognition for clinical and surgical excellence. Now at Vance Thompson Vision in Sioux Falls, she partners closely with patients and referring doctors to deliver thoughtful, evidence-based care with clear next steps.

Dr. Elizabeth Chiang is an oculoplastic and reconstructive surgeon who focuses on eyelid and periocular procedures that restore function and enhance appearance. She performs upper and lower blepharoplasty, ptosis repair for droopy eyelids, brow lift procedures, and correction of eyelid malposition such as entropion and ectropion. Her practice also includes eyelid lesion removal, complex reconstruction after Mohs surgery or injury, tear duct procedures, and office-based treatments like Botox and filler injections. Dr. Chiang earned her undergraduate degree from the California Institute of Technology and completed MD/PhD training in neuroscience through the Medical Scientist Training Program at Case Western Reserve University. She completed ophthalmology residency at Northwestern University and a two-year oculoplastic and reconstructive surgery fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin. She brings a careful, detail-oriented approach designed to help patients feel comfortable and confident in their care.

Dr. Elizabeth A. Atchison is a fellowship-trained vitreoretinal surgeon who cares for adults with a wide range of retinal and vitreous disorders. Patients appreciate her clear explanations, steady surgical skill, and the continuity of care that retina practice provides—from urgent evaluations through long-term follow-up. Raised in Sioux Falls, she is grateful to serve the community she calls home and sees patients in both the Sioux Falls and Yankton offices. Dr. Atchison completed medical school at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, ophthalmology residency at the Mayo Clinic, and a vitreoretinal surgery fellowship with Illinois Retina Associates and Rush University. She partners closely with referring optometrists and ophthalmologists to provide timely diagnosis, advanced treatment, and compassionate guidance tailored to each person’s needs. Whether managing diabetic retinopathy, treating retinal tears and detachments, or monitoring age-related macular degeneration, her goal is to protect vision with evidence-based care and thoughtful communication.
