About Me
Dr. Bilal Farhat is a board-certified ophthalmologist who was raised in Wichita, Kansas. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Tulsa and his medical doctorate from the University of Kansas. He previously worked in Kansas City and Lawrence and is excited to make the move to Topeka, where his wife is a native, and they are raising their two daughters in the family-centered environment.
Following his internship in internal medicine at the University of Kansas-Wichita, Dr. Farhat completed his ophthalmology residency at New York Medical College at JHMC in Queens, New York. He then pursued a cornea and refractive surgery fellowship at Albany Medical Center/Cornea Consultants of Albany in upstate New York. He also teaches medical and surgical ophthalmology focusing on cornea and external disease and cataract surgery to ophthalmology residents at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
Dr. Farhat is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and Cornea Society. He specializes in cataract surgery, LASIK, cornea transplantation, and cornea and external disease, providing comprehensive eye care to his patients.
