Dr. Benjamin Monson

Dr. Benjamin Monson is an ophthalmologist who brings compassion and attentive listening to his clinical practice. A longtime Metro Detroit resident, he completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan with distinction and earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Des Moines University. His ophthalmology residency and internship were completed through the St. John Providence health system.

Dr. Monson specializes in cataract surgery, including refractive cataract surgery with advanced lens options and femtosecond laser-assisted techniques. He has particular interests in eyelid surgery and facial rejuvenation. As a comprehensive ophthalmologist, he also provides care for diabetic eye disease, glaucoma, dry eye syndrome, and ocular surface disease.

Born into a family of physicians, Dr. Monson places the highest importance on patient education and individualized care. He sees patients at the Clinton Township and Romeo locations of Fite Eye Center.
