Dr. Benjamin Bert

Dr. Benjamin Bert is an Assistant Professor in the cornea division at the Doheny Eye Center UCLA. He is an honors graduate of both UCLA, where he earned a BS in Physiological Sciences in 2004, and SUNY Upstate Medical University, where he earned his MD in 2008.

He completed his internship in internal medicine at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center in 2009, where he was named the outstanding preliminary intern. Dr. Bert then completed his ophthalmology residency at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary in 2012, serving as chief resident and receiving the award for the most outstanding resident. He further specialized with a cornea and external disease fellowship at the Doheny Eye Institute in 2013, which included training at the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles.

Dr. Bert's practice encompasses a wide range of ophthalmic conditions, from dry eye and external ocular diseases to LASIK/PRK and advanced cataract surgery, including the use of toric and EDOF/multifocal intraocular lenses. He also manages complex corneal disorders with both medical and surgical approaches, such as corneal collagen crosslinking, PKP, DALK, and DSAEK.
