Dr. Athear Alrawi

Dr. Athear M. Alrawi is a board-certified ophthalmologist at Legacy Eye Institute in Lapeer, Michigan. He earned his medical degree from the University of Michigan School of Medicine in 1997 and completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of California, San Francisco in 2002. With over 20 years of experience, Dr. Alrawi has performed more than 10,000 eye surgeries and laser procedures.

Dr. Alrawi provides comprehensive eye care, specializing in cataract surgery, including traditional and LenSx laser-assisted methods, glaucoma laser surgery and iStent implantation for open-angle glaucoma, diabetic eye care, and dry eye treatment. During a first appointment, patients can expect a thorough eye exam lasting about one to one and a half hours, including a review of medical and ocular history, vision and eye pressure checks, and possible refraction and dilation.
