Dr. Roma Pegany is a cornea and external disease specialist at the Casey Eye Institute. She diagnoses and treats conditions that affect the cornea and ocular surface, offering medical therapies as well as surgical options such as corneal transplantation and laser vision correction. Her clinical interests include infectious and inflammatory corneal disease, and she is committed to patient education so people understand their diagnosis and choices at every step. Dr. Pegany earned her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley and her medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine. She completed an ophthalmology residency at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, followed by fellowship training in Cornea, External Diseases and Refractive Surgery at the Casey Eye Institute, where she received the Fellow of the Year award. She later served on the faculty at the University of California, San Francisco before returning to OHSU. Dr. Pegany values collaborative, compassionate care grounded in the latest science.

Dr. Ashlin Joye

Dr. Ashlin Joye is a cornea and external disease specialist who treats a wide range of conditions affecting the front of the eye. His clinical interests include routine and complex cataract surgery, all forms of keratoplasty, keratoprosthesis (artificial cornea), anterior segment reconstruction, and refractive surgery. He also cares for patients with complex ocular surface disease and infectious or inflammatory keratitis. Dr. Joye aims to provide clear, compassionate guidance so patients can make confident, informed decisions about their vision. Dr. Joye received his medical degree from Touro University of California. He completed ophthalmology residency at the Casey Eye Institute at Oregon Health & Science University, followed by subspecialty fellowship training in Cornea, External Disease, and Refractive Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco and the F. I. Proctor Foundation.

Dr. Travis Redd

Dr. Travis Redd is a cornea and external disease specialist who provides medical and surgical care for disorders of the ocular surface and lens. His practice includes cataract surgery and the diagnosis and treatment of infectious and inflammatory diseases of the external eye. He focuses on practical, evidence-based care and takes time to help patients understand their condition and treatment choices. Dr. Redd earned his MD and MPH at Oregon Health & Science University, where he also completed ophthalmology residency at the Casey Eye Institute. He then completed fellowship training in cornea and external disease at the Francis I. Proctor Foundation & UCSF, developing particular expertise in complex corneal infections and inflammatory disorders. His academic interests include innovations that reduce the global burden of corneal blindness, and he enjoys the outdoors with his family in the Pacific Northwest.
