About Me

Dr. Ariel Chen is an ophthalmologist with a focus on ocular surface, cornea, and anterior segment disease. She offers comprehensive eye care along with cataract surgery, pterygium removal, corneal transplantation, and other surgeries of the front of the eye. Dr. Chen strives to deliver patient-centered care—listening carefully, explaining every step, and coordinating with other clinicians so treatment feels seamless.

A Portland native, Dr. Chen completed college at Rice University and earned her medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine. She trained in ophthalmology at the Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins Hospital and pursued fellowship training in cornea at Wills Eye Hospital. She is delighted to be back caring for the community where she grew up.
