About Me
Dr. Ann Barker-Griffith is an emeritus professor of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at SUNY Upstate Medical University. With a career spanning decades, she specialized in comprehensive ophthalmology and ophthalmic pathology, and held clinical affiliations at the University Center for Vision Care and Upstate Specialty Services at Harrison Center.
Dr. Barker-Griffith’s research interests include the analysis of ocular materials using scanning electron microscopy, complications of ocular trauma, and the ultrastructure of the trabeculum and vitreous. She has contributed to the field through her work on shaken baby syndrome and has numerous publications.
Throughout her career, Dr. Barker-Griffith held hospital privileges at Upstate University Hospital and was involved in pathology and ophthalmic pathology sections. She is a graduate of Drexel University College of Medicine and completed fellowships in eye pathology at SUNY Upstate Medical Center and ophthalmic pathology at the Wilmer Eye Institute.
