Dr. Anil Patel

Dr. Anil D. Patel is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in neuro-ophthalmology at the Dean McGee Eye Institute in Oklahoma City. He serves as a Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology and the Director of the Neuro-Ophthalmology Fellowship Program, bringing extensive experience in both clinical care and medical education.

Dr. Patel’s practice focuses on the neurologic aspects of eye disease, addressing conditions such as optic nerve disorders, double vision, visual field loss, pupil abnormalities, and idiopathic intracranial hypertension. He also treats adult strabismus and vision problems related to stroke, brain tumors, and other neurological conditions. He works closely with neurologists and neurosurgeons to provide comprehensive care.

With a background that includes medical school and residency at the University of Saskatchewan and a fellowship in neuro-ophthalmology at the University of Iowa, Dr. Patel has been with the Dean McGee Eye Institute since 2004. He is actively involved in clinical research and has served as principal investigator on NIH/NEI-sponsored studies.
