Dr. Angela Kovacik

Dr. Angela Herro Kovacik is a board-certified general ophthalmologist, refractive cataract surgeon, and fellowship-trained neuro-ophthalmologist. She joined Horizon Eye Specialists & Lasik Center in 2015 and currently sees patients at multiple locations in the Phoenix area. Her approach to eye care is centered on personalized treatment and the use of advanced technology.

Dr. Herro Kovacik has a special interest in femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery (FLACS) and premium lens implantation, including astigmatic correction and multifocal lenses, which can help patients achieve a high level of glasses independence. She also provides comprehensive care for a range of ophthalmic conditions, including YAG laser procedures for after-cataract membranes, glaucoma and glaucoma lasers, diabetes-related eye issues, macular degeneration, and eye emergencies.

A native of Phoenix, Dr. Herro Kovacik graduated with honors from Arizona State University with a double major in Chemistry and Mathematics. She earned her medical degree from Boston University and completed her ophthalmology residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, where she was twice named Resident of the Year and served as chief resident. She further specialized with a fellowship in neuro-ophthalmology at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, one of the world's premier eye centers.
