About Me
Dr. Andrew Black is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus. A Baton Rouge native, he completed his medical degree at LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans and his ophthalmology residency at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco, where he served as chief resident. He then underwent advanced fellowship training in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus at the Duke Eye Center in Durham, North Carolina.
Dr. Black provides comprehensive eye care for children, from premature infants to young adults. He treats a wide range of conditions including routine vision problems, double vision, misalignment of the eyes, pediatric glaucoma, and pediatric cataracts. The Pediatric Eye Care Clinic is designed to be comfortable and kid-friendly, with state-of-the-art equipment tailored for children, including those who are too young to verbalize.
Dr. Black is a member of the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology & Strabismus and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is dedicated to preserving children's vision and providing specialized, compassionate care in a supportive environment.
