About Me

Dr. Andrew Chen is an assistant professor in the University of Washington Department of Ophthalmology. He provides comprehensive care for glaucoma, cataracts, and other anterior segment conditions. His approach combines medical and surgical treatments to preserve and improve vision.

Dr. Chen grew up in Los Angeles and earned his bachelor's degree in bioengineering and his medical degree from UCLA. He completed an internal medicine internship at Cedars Sinai Medical Center and an ophthalmology residency at the Flaum Eye Institute at the University of Rochester, followed by a glaucoma fellowship at the Stein Eye Institute at UCLA. His research focuses on the structure-function relationship in glaucoma, visual field analysis, and optic nerve imaging.

Dr. Chen practices at the Eye Institute at Harborview Medical Center and the VA Puget Sound Health Care System. He is dedicated to preserving vision to allow patients to live their lives to the fullest.
