Dr. Andrea Avila Pineda

Dr. Sonali D. Talsania is a board-certified ophthalmologist with advanced fellowship training in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus. She cares for infants, children, and teens with vision problems and eye alignment concerns, and she also treats adults who have strabismus. In addition to comprehensive exams, she provides both medical and surgical care for conditions such as amblyopia (“lazy eye”), blocked tear ducts, childhood cataracts, and eyelid conditions. At Columbia University Medical Center and NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital, Dr. Talsania partners with families to explain diagnoses clearly and to tailor treatment plans to each child’s needs. She earned her medical degree at Harvard Medical School, completed residency training at Boston Medical Center, and completed fellowship training in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus at Duke University’s Duke Eye Center. She is also committed to teaching and advancing pediatric eye care through her academic and clinical work.

Dr. Yoon Lee is a board-certified pediatric ophthalmologist and strabismus surgeon in New York City. She cares for children and adults with eye alignment disorders as well as pediatric eye conditions such as amblyopia and congenital cataracts. Dr. Lee is known for warm, family-centered communication and clear surgical planning, including the use of adjustable and non-adjustable sutures when appropriate. She performs most pediatric eye surgery within the NYU Medical Center system and works closely with families to ensure smooth pre- and postoperative care. Dr. Lee studied biomedical engineering at Northwestern University and graduated from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. She completed an ophthalmology residency at UCLA and a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She has authored peer-reviewed publications and textbook chapters and regularly presents at national meetings in her subspecialty.

Ryan House, MD, is a pediatric ophthalmologist with a special interest in pediatric and adult strabismus, pediatric cataracts, and pediatric low vision. Inspired by early exposure to eye care through his mother’s practice and international volunteer work, he chose a career devoted to helping children see comfortably and confidently. Families appreciate his calm, kid-friendly manner, clear explanations, and practical guidance on what to expect before, during, and after treatment. Dr. House attended medical school at the University of Kansas, completed ophthalmology residency at Loma Linda University in California, and pursued fellowship training in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus at Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis. He is active in the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus and serves on boards focused on public information and pediatric low vision and rehabilitation. His philosophy is simple: meet children at their level, partner closely with parents and caregivers, and tailor care to each child’s visual needs and developmental stage.
