About Me
Dr. Alyssa Hooper is a comprehensive ophthalmologist who specializes in cataract surgery, caring for adults who want clearer, more comfortable vision. She provides routine eye exams, cataract evaluations, and surgical care, and she also sees patients with diabetes who need ongoing eye monitoring. Dr. Hooper is known for taking time to explain findings and options in plain language, so patients feel confident about next steps. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Puget Sound and received her medical degree from Tulane University of Medicine in New Orleans. She completed her ophthalmology residency at the University of South Florida Department of Ophthalmology. In addition to cataract care, Dr. Hooper performs blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) for cosmetic concerns and for drooping lids that can affect vision. She is board certified and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Outside of the clinic, she lives in Carrollwood with her family and enjoys traveling, hiking, and playing tennis.
