About Me
Dr. Alyssa Bonnell is a fellowship-trained retina specialist and senior retina fellow at the University of Washington in Seattle. She cares for adults and children with a wide range of medical and surgical retina conditions, including diabetic eye disease, intraocular tumors, and complex retinal injuries. Dr. Bonnell completed her undergraduate studies in Health and Societies: Public Health at the University of Pennsylvania, then earned her medical degree from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. She returned to the Pacific Northwest for internship in internal medicine and ophthalmology residency at the University of Washington, where she developed a particular interest in vitreoretinal surgery and tumor care. Her training allows her to offer advanced, sight-saving treatments while carefully explaining options so patients feel informed and supported at every step. Originally from Princeton, New Jersey, Dr. Bonnell enjoys exploring Seattle’s coffee shops and restaurants, going to spin classes with friends, and spending time in the mountains with her husband and their two dogs.
