Dr. Alexander Robin
About Me
Dr. Alexander Robin is a fellowship-trained glaucoma specialist and comprehensive ophthalmologist who provides the full spectrum of medical, laser, and surgical care for patients with glaucoma, as well as routine and complex cataract surgery. He values clear communication and shared decision-making, making sure each person understands their condition, the risks and benefits of treatment, and what to expect before and after surgery. His background includes research and publications in glaucoma diagnostics and laser therapy, which inform a data-driven approach at the bedside and in the operating room.
Dr. Robin earned his medical degree from Rush University, completed ophthalmology residency at Cook County Health—where he served as chief resident—and pursued fellowship training in glaucoma and complex anterior segment surgery at the OHSU Casey Eye Institute and Legacy Devers Eye Institute. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and was named one of Portland’s Top Doctors in 2026 by Portland Monthly Magazine. He welcomes consultations and second opinions, and partners closely with referring optometrists and ophthalmologists to ensure seamless longitudinal care.
In his free time, Dr. Robin enjoys running, skiing, cooking, and spending time with his wife and new daughter.
