Dr. Alexander Llinas

Dr. Alexander Llinas is an ophthalmologist specializing in the medical and surgical treatment of glaucoma. He provides comprehensive care for glaucoma patients, including advanced surgical interventions and ongoing medical management. His extensive education includes a Bachelor of Arts from New York University, a Ph.D. in molecular biology from St. Andrews University in the United Kingdom, and a Medical Doctorate from New York University School of Medicine.

Dr. Llinas completed his ophthalmology residency at Nassau University and Stony Brook University, followed by an internship at Yale New Haven Hospital and a glaucoma fellowship at New York Eye and Ear. He remains actively involved in glaucoma research, frequently lectures on the subject, and continues to publish academic papers. He joined the SightMD staff in 2023 and sees patients in East Setauket and Wading River on Long Island.
