Dr. Robert A Honkanen is a glaucoma and comprehensive ophthalmologist with over 20 years of experience. He received his ophthalmology training at Yale University and completed a glaucoma fellowship at the University of Iowa. He has been a faculty member at Stony Brook ophthalmology since 1999 and serves as Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology. Dr. Honkanen treats patients with glaucoma and dry eye disease and conducts cutting-edge research in these areas. He has been recognized with numerous resident teaching awards and has been listed in Castle Connolly's Top Doctors.
