Alexander de Castro-Abeger, MD, MBA, is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus at Miramar Eye Specialists. He cares for children with amblyopia, eye misalignment, blocked tear ducts, and pediatric cataracts, and performs eye-muscle surgery for both children and adults. Dr. de Castro-Abeger focuses on friendly, family-centered visits, making sure parents and caregivers understand the diagnosis, treatment choices, and what to expect before and after surgery. He believes that education and advocacy help families feel confident and empowered throughout care. Dr. de Castro-Abeger earned his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine and completed a fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus at the Vanderbilt Eye Institute. He also holds an MBA from Brandeis University. At Miramar Eye Specialists, he works alongside a multispecialty team and sees patients in Camarillo and Thousand Oaks.
