About Me
Dr. Albert Maguire is an attending physician in the Division of Pediatric Ophthalmology at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, where he serves as director of the retina service. He is also an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Pennsylvania. His clinical practice focuses on the diagnosis and medical and surgical management of pediatric vitreoretinal diseases.
Dr. Maguire treats a range of conditions including retinal detachment, uveitis, vitreoretinal diseases, retinal degenerations, and retinopathy of prematurity. He also has expertise in treating inherited retinal degenerative diseases such as Leber's Congenital Amaurosis. In addition to his clinical work, he is involved in clinical research and laboratory investigations aimed at developing treatments for incurable retinal diseases.
