About Me

Ahmed Kassem, MD, is a fellowship-trained pediatric ophthalmologist who cares for both children and adults with eye movement and alignment disorders. At Sanford South University Eye Center in Fargo, he evaluates strabismus and double vision, manages blocked tear ducts and ptosis, and treats pediatric cataracts and glaucoma. For adult patients, he also offers specialized eye muscle surgery and care for complex motility problems.

Dr. Kassem completed fellowships in Neuro-Ophthalmology at the University of Minnesota and in Pediatric Ophthalmology & Adult Strabismus at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and Johns Hopkins University. He completed residency in Ophthalmology at Alexandria University Hospitals and earned his medical degree from the University of Alexandria in Egypt. His approach is simple and family-centered: he strives to care for every patient as he would for his own loved ones, combining precise surgical technique with clear communication and practical guidance for families.
