About Me
Dr. Yu Hyon Kim is an attending physician specializing in retina and vitreoretinal surgery and an assistant professor of ophthalmology and visual sciences at Montefiore Einstein. His clinical work is focused on the evaluation, treatment, and surgical management of vitreoretinal diseases, with a special interest in conditions affecting the retinal vasculature.
He earned his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine and completed his ophthalmology residency at San Antonio Uniformed Health Services. Dr. Kim further honed his expertise through a fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Kim's research activities are centered on diabetic retinopathy and retinopathy of prematurity. He is a member of several professional societies, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Retina Specialists.
