Dr. Yasemin Sozeri

Dr. Yasemin Sozeri is a glaucoma and cataract specialist who returned to her hometown of Cleveland in the summer of 2019 to join the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and University Hospitals Eye Institute. She received her undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University, graduating summa cum laude, and remained at Ohio State for medical school. She completed her residency in Ophthalmology at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, where she was selected to serve as chief resident during her final year, followed by an intensive one-year fellowship in Glaucoma at Indiana University in Indianapolis.

Dr. Sozeri has a passion for improving patients’ quality of life and helping them maintain their independence by caring for the medical and surgical conditions that affect their sight. She is well-versed in all medications, lasers and surgeries employed in the treatment of glaucoma and tailors treatment to each patient's specific conditions and circumstances. She also performs both routine and complex cataract surgery and is knowledgeable about specialized surgical techniques and different lens options available to patients.

She is thrilled to be at an academic institution where she can combine her passions for patient care and education, actively training the next generation of ophthalmologists. Dr. Sozeri grew up on the east side of Cleveland in the communities she now serves and is ecstatic to be back in Ohio with her husband, where they enjoy exploring the Cleveland Metroparks with their dog, watching Ohio State football, and traveling.
