Dr. Xavier Mortensen

Xavier M. Mortensen, MD, is a board-certified cornea and anterior segment specialist at Spokane Eye Clinic. He cares for patients with complex corneal and ocular surface disease and offers advanced surgical options including corneal transplantation (such as DMEK), refractive surgery (PRK/LASIK), and small-incision cataract surgery with a range of specialty lens implants. Dr. Mortensen also manages external eye disease and complicated anterior segment problems, pairing precise technique with a calm, patient-centered style.

Dr. Mortensen completed a fellowship in Corneal and Refractive Surgery and External Disease at Price Vision Group in Indianapolis after ophthalmology residency at the University of North Carolina, where he served as chief resident. He earned his MD from the University of Utah School of Medicine and his BS in Physiology and Developmental Biology from Brigham Young University. Fluent in Spanish, he enjoys helping patients understand their options so they can choose the treatment plan that best fits their lives.
