Meet Dr. Wuqaas Munir
About Me
Wuqaas M. Munir, MD, is an ophthalmologist specializing in cornea and external diseases, with a focus on refractive surgery. He serves as a professor of ophthalmology and chief of the cornea service at the University of Maryland Medical System, where he also directs the cornea fellowship program.
Dr. Munir specializes in complex cataract surgery and lamellar (partial-thickness) corneal transplant surgery, as well as refractive surgeries such as LASIK. He treats a range of conditions affecting the cornea and external eye, including corneal disease and disorders of the ocular surface.
Dr. Munir earned his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago, followed by a fellowship in cornea, external disease, anterior segment surgery, and refractive surgery at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute.
