About Me

Dr. Fasika Woreta is a cornea and cataract specialist who serves as the Eugene de Juan, M.D. Professor of Ophthalmic Education at the Wilmer Eye Institute. She practices at the institute's Baltimore and Columbia locations, where she focuses on corneal and external eye diseases, complex cataracts, and anterior segment reconstruction following trauma.

Dr. Woreta is the director of the Eye Trauma Center and the Ophthalmology Residency Program at Wilmer. Her research interests include ophthalmic trauma, quality improvement and high-value care, as well as medical education. She holds national leadership positions, including Vice President of the American Society of Ophthalmic Trauma and representation to the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
