About Me
Dr. Winston Cope is a board-certified ophthalmologist at The Eye Institute of West Florida, providing comprehensive eye care to patients in Largo and St. Petersburg. He practices general ophthalmology, addressing a wide range of eye conditions with a focus on patient-centered care. Dr. Cope is a Pinellas County native, and his family has a history in ophthalmology, with his parents practicing in St. Petersburg in the 1940s.
After earning his BA in chemistry from Oberlin College and his medical degree from the University of Florida in 1972, Dr. Cope completed an internship at the University of Miami School of Medicine and a residency at Duke University. He returned to Pinellas County in 1978 to begin his career and has since accumulated over 36 years of private practice experience before joining The Eye Institute of West Florida. Patients benefit from his long-standing expertise and commitment to community eye health.
