Dr. Walter Hubickey

Dr. Walter J. Hubickey is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in refractive surgery and comprehensive eye care. He joined The Eye Center Surgeons and Associates in 2011, bringing extensive experience from his previous role as the Director of Refractive Surgery at the Huntsville Center for Sight. During his tenure, he performed thousands of successful laser vision correction procedures, treating patients from across the Tennessee Valley and beyond. His expertise in refractive surgery is both extensive and unique, making him a trusted provider for vision correction needs.

Dr. Hubickey's background includes pioneering the War-Fighter Refractive Eye Surgery Program at Fort Bragg, North Carolina in 2000, while serving in the U.S. Army. As a former U.S. Army Special Forces Green Beret, he built strong military relationships and contributed significantly to combat readiness through eye surgery. His clinical contributions have earned him invitations to present at national conferences, and he has published two articles on refractive surgery in the prestigious Journal of Ophthalmology.

Originally from Philadelphia, Dr. Hubickey is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology since 1994 and is a member of several professional organizations including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
