Dr. Tina Hendricks

Dr. Tyler B. Risma is an ophthalmologist who provides comprehensive eye care and a wide range of in-office and surgical treatments. His clinical work includes cataract surgery and refractive lens exchange, along with laser procedures such as YAG laser capsulotomy and retina laser. He also offers retina injections and glaucoma laser and surgery when appropriate. Dr. Risma joined Fuerste Eye Clinic in 2018. He completed his medical education at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine and trained in ophthalmology at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. In addition to vision-restoring procedures, he performs eyelid-focused care such as blepharoplasty and other eyelid surgery, and he provides medical eye exams for patients who want ongoing, relationship-based care. Dr. Risma’s approach emphasizes clear explanations, thoughtful treatment selection, and follow-up planning so patients feel confident at every step.

Dr. Ben J. Janson is a board-certified ophthalmologist who provides comprehensive medical and surgical eye care, with a focus on helping patients see clearly and protect their vision over time. He performs cataract surgery and refractive lens exchange and offers ongoing care for conditions that require careful monitoring and treatment. Dr. Janson has particular interests in treating medical retinal disease and in both medical and surgical management of glaucoma. In addition to in-office procedures such as retinal injections and retinal laser treatment, he treats common post-cataract concerns with YAG laser capsulotomy and provides eyelid procedures when appropriate. Originally from Mason City, Iowa, Dr. Janson completed undergraduate studies at Iowa State University and earned his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He returned to Iowa for an internal medicine internship and ophthalmology residency at the University of Iowa. He remains engaged in education and academic work while keeping care practical, personalized, and patient-centered.

Dr. Justin M. Risma is a board-certified ophthalmologist who provides comprehensive eye care for adults and families in the Dubuque area. He offers advanced cataract care, including cataract surgery and refractive lens exchange, and helps patients manage chronic eye conditions with careful medical follow-up and modern in-office treatments. In addition to cataract and lens-based vision correction, Dr. Risma treats retinal conditions with injections and laser procedures and provides glaucoma evaluation and surgical/laser options when appropriate. He also performs eyelid procedures such as blepharoplasty and other eyelid surgery, and he treats posterior capsule clouding after cataract surgery with YAG laser capsulotomy. Dr. Risma completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics after earning his medical degree at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He is committed to helping patients understand their options and feel confident in their plan of care.
