About Me
Dr. Terry Schwartz is a pediatric ophthalmologist who specializes in low vision rehabilitation for children with permanent vision loss and cerebral/cortical visual impairment (CVI). As the medical director of the Cincinnati Children's Pediatric Low Vision Program, she leads a multidisciplinary team that includes family members, teachers of students with visual impairment, orientation and mobility instructors, and occupational therapists to help children maximize their remaining vision.
Dr. Schwartz's approach focuses on improving the evaluation and treatment of brain-based vision impairment and low vision rehabilitation. She has been recognized by her peers with selection to Best Doctors in America and Cincinnati Magazine's Top Doctors, and received the Teacher of the Year Award from the University of Cincinnati Department of Ophthalmology. Her research aims to advance the understanding and care of children with vision loss and CVI.
