Dr. Sonya Shah

Dr. Sonya B. Shah is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in cataract and glaucoma surgery. Her medical journey began at the University of Pennsylvania, where she graduated summa cum laude, and continued at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine for her medical degree. She then completed an ophthalmology residency and a glaucoma fellowship at Wills Eye Hospital, a renowned institution for eye care.

Dr. Shah has worked with world-renowned ophthalmologists and is committed to medical education, having been involved in training residents and medical students. She has authored several scientific articles and has volunteered in eye clinics in Central and South America. Her professional memberships include serving on the program committee of the American Glaucoma Society and the executive board of the Northern Virginia Academy of Ophthalmology. She is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

In her personal time, Dr. Shah enjoys traveling and exploring Northern Virginia with her husband and three daughters.
