Dr. Sheila Sanders

Dr. Sanders is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in glaucoma and cataract surgery. She takes a personalized approach to care, drawing on her nursing background to truly listen to each patient's concerns and communicate clearly. Dr. Sanders strives to get to know every patient individually, ensuring they feel heard and informed about their treatment options. She has a particular passion for the operating room, where she can address eye conditions directly and help preserve vision.

Dr. Sanders serves as Vice Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences and Director of the Glaucoma Service at UK HealthCare. She also holds the academic rank of Associate Professor of Ophthalmology. Outside of the clinic, she is a proud founder of the Tri For Sight triathlon and enjoys spending time with her family traveling to Montana or the beach.
