Dr. Senmiao Zhan

Dr. Senmiao Zhan is an oculofacial plastic and reconstructive surgeon at Virginia Eye Consultants, providing specialized eyelid and facial surgery for patients in Norfolk and Virginia Beach. She focuses on both cosmetic and functional procedures, including upper and lower eyelid lifts, brow lifts, orbital reconstruction, and Mohs reconstruction after skin cancer removal around the eyes. Dr. Zhan earned her Bachelor of Science from Duke University, a Master of Science from Boston University, and her medical degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She completed an internal medicine internship and ophthalmology residency at VCU Health in Richmond, followed by an American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) fellowship at UT Health San Antonio. Dr. Zhan strives to blend precise surgical technique with an understanding of each patient’s goals so results look natural and protect ocular health. Outside of work, she enjoys time with her family, exploring the outdoors, trying new restaurants, and caring for her house plants.
