Meet Dr. Sebastian Heersink
About Me
Dr. Sebastian Heersink is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in cataract and laser refractive surgery as well as cornea conditions. A native of Dothan, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he was inducted into the National Mechanical Engineering Honor Society and won the Padmakar P. Lele award for his senior thesis.
He then received his medical degree from Georgetown University in Washington D.C., where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. He furthered his training as a research fellow at the National Eye Institute, part of the National Institutes of Health, and completed his ophthalmology residency at the renowned Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia.
Dr. Heersink is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. His clinical focus includes the diagnosis, management, and surgical treatment of cataracts, including complex cases, as well as refractive surgery and comprehensive eye care. He is dedicated to providing advanced, patient-centered care using the latest technology and techniques.
