About Me
Dr. Kamat specializes in laser-assisted small-incision cataract surgery with premium multifocal intraocular lenses, having performed thousands of successful procedures. His clinical expertise also includes glaucoma treatment and surgery, functional eyelid surgery, medical retina care, and various laser-based techniques. With extensive experience at Albert Einstein Medical Center, he handles complex cataract cases, oculoplastic trauma, and anterior segment surgery, known for his precision and patient-centered approach.
A native of Philadelphia, Dr. Kamat earned his B.S. in Premedicine and M.S. in Physiology from Pennsylvania State University before receiving his medical degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. He completed his internship and ophthalmology residency at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, serving as Chief Resident, and worked as a clinical instructor at Wills Eye Institute. Dr. Kamat is a board-certified ophthalmologist and serves on the American Osteopathic Board of Ophthalmology and Otorhinolaryngology.
