Dr. Samuel L. Thomsen is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in cataract surgery, laser vision correction, and the medical and surgical care of glaucoma. A Nebraska native, he completed medical school at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, ophthalmology residency at the Mason Eye Institute at the University of Missouri, and a glaucoma fellowship at the Dean McGee Eye Institute at the University of Oklahoma. He joined Eye Surgical Associates in 2020 and provides care for patients from Lincoln and surrounding communities. Dr. Thomsen offers cataract surgery tailored to patients’ goals, performs LASIK and other refractive procedures, and manages the full spectrum of glaucoma with medical therapy and surgery. He is active in regional and national professional societies and is known for a down-to-earth, collaborative approach—taking time to explain findings, review options, and build a plan that fits each patient’s needs and lifestyle.
