Dr. Samuel Liu

Dr. Samuel M. Liu is a lifelong resident of the Princeton area. He trained at Johns Hopkins University, Vanderbilt University, and the University of Maryland, earning both his M.D. and Ph.D. through a Medical Scientist Training Program scholarship. His doctoral research in Biochemistry focused on breast cancer cell functions.

As the Director of Retina and Imaging Services at The Princeton Eye Group, Dr. Liu specializes in macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and other retina conditions. He also has extensive experience in cataract and LASIK refractive surgery, offering a comprehensive range of surgical and medical eye care.

Dr. Liu is a board-certified ophthalmologist and an attending surgeon with the University Medical Center at Princeton and the Wills Eye Surgical Network. He has served as Section Chief of Ophthalmology at Penn Medicine-Princeton Medical Center since 2018. Dr. Liu is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and has been recognized as one of America's Top Doctors.
