Dr. Samaneh Davoudi is a board-certified, fellowship-trained adult vitreoretinal surgeon at the Retina Institute of Washington. She was accepted into medical school in Iran at the age of 15 and later moved to the United States for advanced training. Her clinical experience includes a clinical research retina and uveitis fellowship at Harvard Medical School-Mass Eye and Ear Infirmary, an ophthalmology residency at the University of Florida, and a vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at Boston Medical Center, Boston University.
Dr. Davoudi's practice involves the injection and laser-based treatment of retinal disease in the clinic, along with performing complex surgical cases in the operating room. She specializes in managing diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, retinal vascular occlusion, macular edema, macular holes, epiretinal membranes, vitreomacular traction, secondary intraocular lens placement, and complex retinal detachments.
She is the recipient of several awards for excellence in research and clinical care, including the UF Chapman Chapter of the Gold Humanism Honor Society, Outstanding Resident Instructor, and best resident research at the University of Florida. Dr. Davoudi has co-authored over 70 peer-reviewed publications and several book chapters, and has presented her work at numerous national and international retina meetings.
