Dr. Ryan Chenevey is a board-certified ophthalmologist dedicated to providing advanced eye care to patients in northeastern Ohio. He joined Wooster Eye Center in 2020, returning to the area where he was raised in Wayne and Richland counties, attending Smithville schools and graduating from Mansfield St Peter’s high school.

His educational journey includes a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Denison University in Granville, Ohio, followed by medical education at Wright State University’s Boonshoft School of Medicine in Dayton. Dr. Chenevey completed his ophthalmology residency at Wake Forest University’s Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where he served as chief resident, gaining extensive experience in eye surgery and patient management.

Dr. Chenevey’s clinical focus encompasses refractive cataract surgery, medical retina conditions with procedures like intravitreal injections, and minimally invasive glaucoma surgeries. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and contributes to hospital committees, including the Joint Conference Committee at Wooster Community Hospital. Beyond his practice, he leads community initiatives such as the Wayne County Heart Walk and supports the arts and professional societies.
