Dr. Ryan MacHiele

Dr. Ryan Machiele serves patients throughout the Triangle area, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases including cataracts, glaucoma, and dry eye. He performs advanced surgical procedures such as bladeless laser cataract surgery, micro-invasive cataract surgery, intraocular lens implantation, glaucoma laser surgery, and micro-invasive glaucoma surgery to provide effective and personalized care.

During his residency training at the University of North Carolina, he gained extensive experience by serving patients at the Kittner Eye Center and the Fayetteville VA Medical Center, where he performed hundreds of surgeries. He was recognized with the Surgical Excellence Award for his superior surgical skill and completed advanced training courses including the SCOR Advanced Cataract and Anterior Segment Course and the Harvard Cataract Course.

His compassionate approach is shaped by prior humanitarian work, such as caring for children in foster care at the Black Mountain Home for Children and working as a Wilderness EMT. Dr. Machiele is dedicated to providing trusted, patient-centered eye care and is actively involved in the community with his family.
