Dr. Ross Passo

Dr. Julia Kuhn is a board-certified ophthalmologist who provides comprehensive medical and surgical eye care in Eugene. She enjoys partnering with people of all ages to protect sight and tailor care plans that fit each patient’s goals and lifestyle. In the clinic, Dr. Kuhn manages common and complex conditions such as glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, and age-related macular degeneration, and she offers a full spectrum of in-office procedures and advanced cataract options. Dr. Kuhn studied Biology and French literature at Washington University in St. Louis before earning her medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She completed an internship and ophthalmology residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, where her research interests included ocular surgery techniques. She is active in professional societies and is committed to clear communication, shared decision-making, and evidence-based care so every patient understands their diagnosis and feels confident about next steps.

Eric J. Niespodzany, MD, is an ophthalmologist at Pacific ClearVision Institute, where he provides laser vision correction and comprehensive surgical eye care. He brings a broad medical background to his patients: after earning a BS in Genetics and an MS in Physiology, he completed internal medicine training and board certification before pursuing ophthalmology. He trained as an ophthalmologist within the University of Texas system and now performs cataract surgery and refractive procedures while caring for a wide range of corneal and general eye conditions. Dr. Niespodzany is active in community service, volunteering at the Volunteers in Medicine clinic in Springfield and performing cataract surgery for patients with complex health needs. He also travels to Coos and Douglas counties to expand access to specialty eye care. Known for his positive energy and clear explanations, he partners with patients to choose treatments that fit their lives and visual goals.

Dr. Sam Carpentier is a comprehensive ophthalmologist who specializes in cataract surgery, diabetic eye exams, glaucoma care, and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS). He believes the best outcomes start with listening, and he partners with each person to understand their unique story and goals before recommending a plan. Dr. Carpentier sees patients in Newberg and Lake Oswego and welcomes adults seeking routine and surgical eye care. Dr. Carpentier completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan, earned a PhD at the University of Washington, and received his MD from the University of Colorado School of Medicine, where he was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha. He finished ophthalmology residency at Wake Forest, serving as chief resident. Patients appreciate his clear explanations and collaborative, evidence-based approach to decisions about surgery and long-term eye health.
