About Me
Dr. Rodney D. Hollifield is a fellowship-trained vitreoretinal surgeon at Retina Consultants of Nevada. He earned his undergraduate degree from the United States Military Academy at West Point and his medical degree from Hahnemann University. He completed an internship at William Beaumont Army Medical Center, followed by a residency in general ophthalmology and a fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, where he formerly served as Director of Vitreoretinal Surgery.
Dr. Hollifield is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and an active Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He treats a wide range of conditions affecting the retina and vitreous, including retinal detachments, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, macular holes, and vitreous hemorrhage. His extensive military and academic training provides patients with expert surgical care.
