About Me
Dr. Robert Arnold is a board-certified pediatric ophthalmologist who has been serving the Anchorage community since 1989. He completed his medical education at Yale University, followed by an ophthalmology residency at the Mayo Clinic and a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus at Indiana University. Dr. Arnold is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and has surgical privileges at multiple hospitals, including Providence, Alaska Regional, and Alaska Native Hospitals.
He is deeply committed to preventing childhood blindness and has been instrumental in vision screening efforts across Alaska. Dr. Arnold co-founded the Alaska Blind Child Discovery project and has developed innovative tools for vision screening, including a game for the Nintendo 3DS. He also provides eye care to underserved communities, including ethnic groups in Burma. His work is supported by his involvement in national organizations, such as serving as the Chairman of the Vision Screening Committee for the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus.
