Dr. Robert Alan

Dr. Robert Alan has been providing ophthalmology care in Bellingham since 1972. He approaches each day with enthusiasm, embracing new technology and computer-aided examinations to improve the diagnosis and treatment of eye disease. Dr. Alan continues to practice general ophthalmology, offering comprehensive eye care to his patients while remaining active in the local medical community.

Originally from Pennsylvania, Dr. Alan graduated from Colgate University and earned his medical degree at Jefferson Medical School. He completed an internship at Madigan General Hospital and his ophthalmology residency at Wills Eye Hospital. Board certified by the American Academy of Ophthalmology, he serves on the board of directors of the Bellingham Surgery Center. He is also an active member of the Whatcom County Medical Society and the Washington State Medical Association. Although he has retired from surgery and hospital practice, Dr. Alan continues to see patients for general ophthalmology needs.
