About Me
Dr. Robert Behar is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in comprehensive ophthalmology with a focus on cataract and intraocular lens surgery. He practices at Philadelphia Eye Associates, where he has been a partner since 1982. Dr. Behar serves as an Attending Surgeon on the Cataract and Primary Eye Care Service at Wills Eye Hospital and is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Thomas Jefferson University School of Medicine.
Dr. Behar completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania and earned his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He then completed a medical internship at Crozer-Chester Medical Center and an ophthalmology residency at Wills Eye Hospital, where he was selected as Chief Resident in his senior year. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a member of several professional ophthalmology societies.
Patients can receive care for a range of eye conditions, including cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration, and dry eye. Dr. Behar also provides comprehensive eye exams and contact lens fittings. He is fluent in Spanish and sees patients at the Allegheny Avenue and Roosevelt Boulevard offices, as well as Wills Eye Hospital.
