About Me
Dr. Richard A. Bowers is a board-certified ophthalmologist and a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He serves as Chairman of Sewickley Eye Group and is a clinical instructor in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Dr. Bowers completed a fellowship in cornea external disease and anterior segment surgery at the University of Minnesota.
Dr. Bowers specializes in refractive cataract surgery, cornea and anterior segment surgery, and the treatment of corneal disease. He offers comprehensive care for conditions affecting the front of the eye, including cataracts and corneal disorders.
Dr. Bowers has published peer-reviewed articles and lectured nationally. He has also participated in medical mission trips to Sierra Leone, Kenya, and Honduras, where he performed eye surgeries in underserved communities.
